Workshop Groups and Times

Workshops are run on Saturday mornings and are divided into three age groups:

Mini Stars (approx ages 6 to 9) - 9 am to 10 am

Midi Stars (approx ages 10 to 13)- 10 am to 11:30 am

Major Stars (approx ages 14 to 18) - 11:30 am to 1 pm

Showbacks

We usually hold a Showback on the LAST WORKSHOP OF EACH TERM.

Showbacks are intended to give families and friends a little taste of what the students have been learning over the term.  They are not intended to be a polished performance as we do not spend the whole term concentrating on what we are going to present at the Showback.

In the workshops the students work on the term’s topic alongside learning lots of other skills including trust, character progression, group cohesion, improvisation, devising, concentration etc.  Your child will have been equally involved in all aspects of the workshops and will have contributed greatly but sometimes may only have a small role when it comes to what is presented at the Showback.

On Showback days the workshop times are switched around so that the young ones don’t need to hang around all morning.  You will receive correspondence regarding this a couple of weeks prior to the showback.

We do not currently issue tickets but please note that we can only accommodate three to four friends and family per student.

Fees

Fees are collected per term in full and are as follows:

Mini Stars:  £40 (£30 second/subsequent siblings)

Midi & Major Stars:  £60 (£45 second/subsequent siblings)

Workshops missed for sickness or holidays cannot be reimbursed.  We reserve the right to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of a cancellation you will be contacted by email and reimbursed accordingly.

Payment

  • Invoices will be generated and sent electronically around the start of each term.
  • Preferred payment is online via the GoCardless system via the link that will be provided in the invoice.
  • Payment is expected in full for each term by the date specified on the invoice.
  • Cash will be accepted on the day of the first workshop only.

How to join

Please complete our online application form by clicking on this link

https://ph2youth.membermeister.com/register

We usually only accept new students at the begnning of each term; workshop 2 is the latest a new student can join for each term.  If you apply part-way through a term, your application form may not be processed until towards the beginning of the next term.

Places will be confirmed by email.  Please check your junk mail.  The email will come from yt@playhouse2.org - please add this address to your safe senders list.

Membership and Future Terms

Once accepted as a member of the youth theatre, students will be enrolled and invoices will be issued automatically for all future terms unless we are instructed otherwise.

We would be grateful if you would let us know as soon as possible if students are not going to attend future terms as this frees up places for new students.

If the invoice is not paid and the student does not attend the first workshop of the term then we will assume that their place is no longer required - unless we have had communication from you that confirms otherwise.

GDPR and Your Cyber Safety

We have invested in a piece of membership software which is where all the personal identification data will be stored.  Please click on the link below to read about how your data will be kept secure - GDPR information
