Matthew Baker has been the Youth Theatre Facilitator at Playhouse 2 since 2014 but has been involved with PH2Youth from its formation.  He has over five years’ experience in the drama industry.

Matt has a first class degree, BA(Hons), in Drama, Applied Theatre and Education from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.  Central's Alumni includes actors such as Dame Judi Dench, Kit Harrington (Jon Snow from 'Game of Thrones'), Dawn French and Martin Freeman to name but a few.

Matt runs his own children's theatre company - 'Le petit Artiste Children's Theatre'.  He also acts, directs and composes for theatre as well as working in schools teaching drama.  It's his real full time job!

PH2Youth is a great way for young people to both learn the craft of drama as well as develop confidence, social and creative skills so necessary in a changing world.  Matt has put on large scale Shakespeare plays but also sees the benefit of allowing young people to create their own work with a guiding hand.

Matt's philosophy, shared by PH2Youth, is that the youth theatre is fun, challenging and a family.  We'd love you to become part of it!  Matt and the PH2Youth staff are always around to chat before or after sessions to talk about progress and applications to the workshops.

In his spare time Matt supports Arsenal Football Club (which hasn't won him many friends up here) and plays guitar.
